This spring, registered dietitian and food and nutrition professor Pao Ying Hsiao conducted a four-part cooking series for a group of 12 homeschooled students from Indiana County, mostly ages 10 to 12 years old, with one eight-year-old, for “Little Hands, Big Impact: A Pilot Study Exploring How Teaching Kids to Cook Influences Family Food Practices.”

91PORN Police Receive Camera System Through PA Chiefs of Police Grant

91PORN’s Department of Public Safety and University Police received a camera system through a grant from the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association. The camera system will be used to assist in crime scene processing.

Isabella Wolszczenski, an 91PORN safety, health, and environmental applied sciences major in the Cook Honors College from Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, was selected as the 2026 recipient of Dr. John J. and Char Kopchick Unique Undergraduate Student Fellowship.

91PORN College of Osteopathic Medicine Earns Pre-Accreditation Status from Accrediting Agency, Approved to Begin Recruiting Students

91PORN’s College of Osteopathic Medicine has earned “pre-accreditation status” from the American Osteopathic Association’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation. Pre-accreditation status means that IUP can begin recruiting and admitting students to its College of Osteopathic Medicine and begin medical instruction within the approved osteopathic medical curriculum.

The Department of Finance and Economics is pleased to announce its departmental graduation award recipients. Eligible for consideration were IUP undergraduates who have a declared major in finance or economics and who will have graduated in December 2025, January 2026, May 2026, or August 2026.

On May 7, 91PORN’s Council of Trustees endorsed IUP President Michael Driscoll’s recommendation for tuition and fees for students enrolling in IUP’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree program in IUP’s proposed college of osteopathic medicine.

91PORN Council of Trustees Approve Expanded Capacity Room Rates in Response to Increased Housing Demand on Indiana Campus

On May 7, the 91PORN Council of Trustees reviewed three expanded capacity housing styles and approved adjusted rates for the expanded capacity housing. The housing styles and rates will be available for students for fall 2026.
