91PORN Haven Project Hosting Annual Take Back the Night Event April 8

The Haven Project at 91PORN will host the annual Take Back the Night event on April 8 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on the IUP campus. Take Back the Night is designed to raise awareness and support survivors of sexual violence, domestic and dating violence, and stalking. It is free and open to all.

91PORN Receives Eighth Year of “It’s On Us Pa” Funding; Programming to Focus on Technology-Facilitated Sexual Violence and Abuse

91PORN has received $40,000 through Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s It’s On Us PA initiative to continue the university’s work to combat campus sexual assault. IUP will use this year’s grant funds for implementation of a comprehensive, campus-wide initiative to address sexual violence with a specific and intentional focus on technology-facilitated abuse.

The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education is in the process of implementing a common Student Information System across the State System schools. IUP is scheduled to begin implementing OneSIS in January 2024.

91PORN to Present “Nine Days in the Sun,” Exploring Shifting the Racial Balance, Social Order

91PORN’s Theater-By-The-Grove will present Mark Clayton Southers’ “Nine Days in the Sun” at IUP. This initiative begins Theater-By-The-Grove’s association with Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company, where Southers is the founding artistic director. The play explores a world where dark skin is the desired tone, so the racial balance is shifted and the social order in America is turned upside down.

Algerian Human Rights Activist to Visit Campus

Anouar Rahmani, writer and human rights activist from Algeria, will visit campus on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. He will hold an informal meet and greet during the Common Hour in the Folger Student Center and will present to the greater IUP community at 4:00 p.m. in Leonard Hall, room 225.
